Left to Nothing is a fast aggressive hardcore music solo project coming out of Rhode Island. The music captures the essence of 1980s and 1990s old school hardcore music with a modern twist of heavy chugging metalcore and brutal vocals. "Hope and Despair" is the first 5 song EP, released in May 2024. The album is a powerful testament to the anger and frustration felt in today’s world as we all struggle in a society that seeks to keep us down. The music's many influences including Terror, Comeback Kid, Integrity, and Hatebreed.
The EP stands out with its atmospheric cover artwork and top-notch production quality. The throaty, angry vocals are a perfect match for the intense instrumentals, and the crew shouts add an authentic hardcore touch. Each track is thoughtfully crafted, with intricate breaks and tempo changes that keep the listener engaged. Hope and Despair seeks to bring hardcore back to the roots of the 1980s, but also manages to stay fresh and varied.
Overall, Hope and Despair is a dynamic and invigorating release that showcases Left to Nothing's ability to breathe new life into classic hardcore punk, making it a must-listen for fans of the genre.
